Vision 2030
The West End DC Community Association is an unincorporated community organization dedicated to improving the District of Columbia’s West End community and its interests by strengthening relationships between West End neighbors, supporting businesses that serve our community, educational institutions, local government and other neighborhood groups. WEDCCA strives to promote civic and social welfare, diversity and quality of life in the West End and help to provide a positive experience for the thousands of national and international visitors stay in or visit our neighborhood annually, promoting historic preservation, safety, beautification, information, education and connections for West End residents.
Business Development
Our community is strongest when we have thriving businesses that are driving economic development, consumer activity and tourism in the West End. Visitors every year stay in our hotels, shop in our boutiques, and eat at our restaurants. The West End is a neighborhood where businesses are welcomed and supported because their commitment to investing in our community lifts up every resident.
The most important thing we can do is support efforts to protect the families, residents and students of the West End. The city of Washington, D.C. is our partner in this effort. We will do everything we can to support the city’s and Metropolitan Police Department’s efforts to protect our community, reduce crime, and support a sustainable neighborhood. That effort is a responsibility of all of us. A better, stronger neighborhood reduces the potential for crime and violence.
Beautification and Quality of Life
The beauty of DC’s West End neighborhood is unmatched. From tree-lined streets of historic townhouses, to parks and riverfront, to the commercial and residential buildings that drive economic output, our community is a shining gem of natural and man-made beauty. Maintaining that beauty is paramount to the success of the West End. This is a shared responsibility that will include our work with the city of Washington, D.C., our communal efforts to protect and clean our streets, and the individual duty for every resident to do their part

Health and Wellness
The strength of the West End community is found in its focus on education, economic prosperity and community development. Our organization is geared towards bringing more people into that community – students, families, businesses and residents. Our neighborhood is stronger when we work together, in unison for the common good.
Historic Preservation
The century-old rowhouses and buildings that line our streets are living monuments to the history of our neighborhood. Working with the city of Washington, D.C. and local historical societies, we can support efforts to preserve that history and, in doing so, allow our residents and visitors to remember those who came before us. Preserving our history is paramount to ensuring a successful future for the West End for decades and centuries to come.
